Realme 12 Pro+ Review

realme 12 pro+

Realme 12 Pro+ hired the internationally renowned luxury watch design master Ollivier Savéo for its appearance. He extracted design inspiration elements from century-old watches, deeply deconstructed the design and craftsmanship of luxury watches, and then applied them to the mobile phone industry. In the design, synaesthetic aesthetics are used to reproduce the sophisticated beauty of luxury watches in the design of mobile phones. Today let’s take a look at what it is like?

Realme 12 Pro+ Design

Compared to its predecessor, what sets the realme 12 Pro series apart is its incorporation of more elements from high-end luxury watch designs. Every precise detail enhances the overall aesthetic of the device, such as the 3D diamond-forged texture on the back.

The camera module features a triangular-pit pattern around the lens, adding to its exquisite appearance. Moreover, under different lighting conditions, we can also see the brilliant light reflected from the classic sunburst design on the lens module, which is quite dazzling.

It’s worth mentioning that the realme 12 Pro+ utilizes a technologically advanced nano skin material on the back, claimed by the manufacturer to withstand over 500,000 abrasions. After using it for a while, we haven’t noticed any dirt or stains.

Realme 12 Pro+ Dimension

In terms of appearance design, I quite like the Realme 12 Pro+. In addition, another point worthy of praise is that the weight of this phone is only 196g and the thickness is 8.75mm. It does not feel heavy when held in my hand. Check more specification at Gsmarena.

Realme 12 Pro+ Camera

Main camera: Sony IMX890, 1/1.56 inch, f/1.8 aperture, 24mm focal length, 50 million pixels, supports OIS optical image stabilization.

Telephoto: Howe OV64B, 1/2 inch, f/2.6 aperture, 71mm focal length, 64 million pixels, supports OIS optical image stabilization.

Ultra wide angle: Hynix Hi846W, 1/4 inch, f/2.2 aperture, 16mm focal length, 8 million pixels.

From everyday shooting, the imaging performance of the realme 12 Pro+ is satisfying. The primary camera, powered by the IMX890 sensor, delivers swift imaging with optical stabilization, ensuring quick and sharp captures even in low-light conditions. It handles highlights well and retains detail in shadows.

The realme 12 Pro+ provides a 6x zoom option in the shooting interface. At 6x zoom (equivalent to a 140mm focal length), image quality may be a little slightly weaker compared to 3x zoom, and more noise in low-light scenes. However, under favorable lighting conditions, the imaging remains impressive. Compared to smartphones in the same price range relying solely on digital zoom, this feature is a significant advantage.

However, the ultra-wide-angle lens lacks optical stabilization, so it’s best to keep the phone steady, especially in low-light situations.

The realme 12 Pro+ offers various camera features. It introduces three new filters tuned by Claudio Miranda, the winner of the 85th Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, inspired by films like “Life of Pi,” “Skyfall,” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” These filters allow users to capture cinematic-style shots in their daily lives.

Realme 12 Pro+ Performance

In terms of performance, the Realme 12 Pro+ is equipped with the Snapdragon 7sGen2 processor, which is built using a 4nm process with a main frequency of up to 2.4GHz. The four A78 mid-cores provide excellent multi-core performance. The Adreno710 GPU is combined with a 3394mm² ice core VC cooling system. Improved by 20%.

Realme 12 Pro+ can score 677,419 points in AnTuTu v10.2.1 version, Geekbench 6 scores 943 points in single-core and 2873 points in multi-core. In the 3DMark test, Wild Life scored 3089 points.

realme charger

Realme 12 Pro+ has a built-in 5000mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging, and comes standard with a 67W A-port charger. Thanks to the better power consumption performance of the second-generation Snapdragon 7s, the battery life of the phone is pretty good, and the charging speed is within the acceptable range for me. It takes 44 minutes to charge from 3% to 100%, 10 minutes to 35%, and 30 minutes to 82%.

realme on hand

After using the realme 12 Pro+ for a few days, I’m most impressed by its appearance and feel. The large circular camera module is highly recognizable, and the leather back cover feels comfortable to touch and offers a unique look. Compared to the usual glass or metal back covers, this design stands out. If you seek a well-designed mid-range phone with good imaging capabilities then the Realme 12 Pro+ warrants a strong recommendation.
